The only thing s that bothered me were that the pages are very thin.

Roughly, think about 1. As well as spiral bound so it's a very delicate book. The size is ok for me. But, how it's bound and the thin paper used leads me to feel that this book won't last as long as I had hoped.

Hardcover, would be great and thicker paper would be a plus. Otherwise, I would rate it 5 stars. Update: Finally, ended up ripping a page out accidentally.

Happened while trying to prevent the book from falling off my lap. We buy these books every year hubby is a coin collector ; they're the best for carrying to auctions where internet service may be iffy or nonexistent.

The pictures are clear and helpful, and prices are pretty current of course, he always does his due diligence before attending, but these books are especially helpful when something comes up that he's interested in but hasn't investigated beforehand.

This was advertised as the spiral, which is what we normally order, but it's a bit odd as it's a spiral with regular bound covers. The first we received was damaged--the cover was torn from the spiral inside--but the replacement was sent swiftly and I just had to take the book to the UPS store near me they packaged and shipped it I just had to give them a code Amazon sent me and the book. It was easy to return, and I had a pristine, undamaged replacement within 2 days.

I would order this again, but we will try to stick to the regular spiral rather than this odd hybrid. It's a bit stiff and not as easy to keep open to the page he needs. It's a great book, though, and a must-have for collectors.

Like the book very much. Didn't like the fact that it looked like it was very well used of was kicked down the hall at the warehouse. Amazon started with books. You would think they could tell the difference between exceptional and not so much. The most informative guide on coins that you can get.

They do an amazing job. I am new to coin collecting, relatively speaking, and I love it. I pre ordered this before it came out and when they shipped it, it still had some press shavings in it which is awesome because you know it just got printed!

Would like more photos. These are an invaluable tool for the amateur collector such as myself. I do wish there were better, and more photos of error strikes and other unique oddities. Fun to have even if you don't collect. Sift through your change and look up what you find. You might be surprised. I have no idea how past editions of the red book we have, one family member or another has bought them for decades.

The print might be a little small and judging a coin's value is subjective I tend to base my valuation on the lowest grade listed This is a nice and complete book on coins. It gives a little information about many different coins. It also has nice photos. In another review I read the pages were thin like that if a Bible.

I didn't find that to be true. As you can see in the photo, they are regular thickness of a regular book. I like the spiral in place if a Ridgid spine if the book so you can lay it flat with no problem. All in all it is as described, a good book with information all in one place that you can't find bon the Internet.

Great information in a small compact book. This will assist. Would recommend and would buy again. See all reviews. Top reviews from other countries. Translate all reviews to English. In an era when paper books are under pressure from e-books, it takes a reference work like this to show there is NO substitute for a book 'in hand'.

One of the paradoxes of US coinage is that the physical coins aren't that interesting - endless years of Liberty Seated issues, or Washington quarters have seen to that - but the story of US coinage is far more interesting than that of most countries, thanks to the various mints like Carson City, the Civil War, and the sensation of the s Treasury releases that liberated millions of Morgan silver dollars of the s from the sealed vaults. This book is ram-packed with information which means every time it's opened the reader finds something else new, including pictures, listings and editorial.

It features all US mint issues, and also colonial coins, as well as mint and proof sets. The book is inexpensive and the content ought to mean it pays for itself with every coin purchase. Report abuse. I have a small fun collection and I found this little book answered all my questions.
